A Peter Rabbit Easter

I can not tell you how excited I was when my daughter, Mia, told me her theme for
her family Easter celebration would be Peter Rabbit this year!

Mia and I go way back with our love for Peter to when I chose that for her nursery theme.
I was introduced to my love of Peter and all things Beatrix Potter, when I visited England as a
teen and wanted that for my one day baby's room. Now, my grands love her books!

I have to show off all the detail she put into this party! Garden and carrot touches every-where,
even the green cutlery are "carrot" wrapped. Books and Peter mementos were scattered too.

I must tell you Mia's cupcakes, with their lemon curd filling are the very BEST I've ever tasted!
I had too many to count, although Quinn could probably tell you....please don't Q!

A gingerbread garden shed just for fun!

The Easter tree centerpiece even had a few vintage PB ornaments. I lent her my sweet
PB plates and she got the place mat new from Pottery Barn.

The theme was carried out to the backyard and patio area. We were so grateful to outside
and in the sunshine after weeks of wet weather (snow for me).

Food always tastes better wearing bunny ears!

The kids had such fun but wondered all morning about their egg hunt tradition.

And what was this giant hanging carrot? It was filled with eggs and treats. The Easter
Bunny really fooled them this year! All the kids had fun giving the carrot a whack.

Sweet kids showing off their Easter treasures from the giant carrot handmade by Mia.

We didn't open our darling Peter goody bag until we got home. Wow, what a surprise
to find a wonderfully scented candle in a bag I will keep as a
memento of the most fun Easter ever!
Thank you so much, Mia & Matt, for
making our day fabulous!
Happy Easter to all!

Easter Tablescape

I like to layer old and new when creating a seasonal tablescape. It let's me use some of my
collections and fun new things. I started with a newer pink tablecloth and
layered on a vintage one in spring colors. The vintage tablecloths can
be smaller,  so I use it on top at a diagonal for interest.

At each place setting, I used vintage milk glass serving trays as chargers with pink depression glass plates and pink French goblets. The beautifully simple silver was inherited from a dear old
friend. It is fun to blend up collections. The napkins are Ikea and I love the birdies!
To add some fun, I made paper sack bunny favors (idea from Pinterest).
I even added a "cotton tail" on the back of each.

I put a few carrot chocolates here and there (I love cute treats). These were only a dollar for
a netted bag of several at Target. Some fun decorations on the tree and voilĂ !

Oh, and you just have to have a few beautiful bunnies join the party!
Wishing you a fun time decorating your home and table
for Easter, Passover and springtime.

My Easter Collections

I thought I would share a few of my Easter collections with you. These bunnies, chicks and
duckies have been a part of my Easters most all my life. I believe my Momma or my
Aunt Joann made the broken egg above...priceless!

Most of these treasures are made in Japan from Lefton. The shiny duckling and standing
duck are newer additions that I was lucky to find. I just love them all!

I started my Snowbunny collection by accident when I was collecting Snowbabies, gifts
for my daughter. I loved the pastel touches of color on these sweet bunnies.
They are busy making Easter more fun for everyone!

My Mom started my Bunnykins collection for me when I was a girl. I have added to
it here and there as I grew. I try to select pieces that show the bunnies doing
activities that remind me of my childhood family or my own family.

These little plastics figures are a fun retro Easter memory. Can you pick
out the  newer impostor from this line up?

Just a few fun egg cups showing a different style egg collection.
What do you collect for Easter? WE would love you to share.
Happy Easter and Passover to you!

Easter Table

I love a festive table for Easter that will delight the kids and the kid in all of us.
I found the light pink metallic tree at Michael's for 75% off at the end
of last spring. I just knew it would come in handy. It even  has a few
clear flowers on some of the ends of the branches.

First, I set the base of the tree into the spring bead wreath,
then I added Easter ornaments, all from WE.

I sprinkled small malted milk eggs in matching colors around the base.
I like to mix in a few edible treats into the centerpiece.

I set a few fillable paper mache bunnies around the tree and a favor at each place setting. Who
doesn't love a favor? You can add a slip of paper with their name on it to personalize.

A retro ornament decorates the vintage napkins that were a lucky find at an antique store in Paradise, CA. Most of my pink dishes were found in a set in Folsom, CA. I love them for Easter and showers!
Occasionally, I find pinks at thrift stores but it is getting more rare in my neck of the woods.

See what you have collected to pull together for your Easter table. Make a list of what to
look for in the future that will take your table to the next level of fun for you family and YOU!
